SMFC Mandarin Immersion Master Plan

Main content start

Stanford World Language Project collaborated extensively with our partner district's Educational Services Multilingual Department to strengthen their PK-8 Mandarin dual language immersion programs. Through monthly progress monitoring and joint planning sessions, we developed a comprehensive Master Plan documenting program history, research-based design models, and implementation strategies. Our partnership produced aligned K-5 curriculum maps integrating culturally responsive thematic units, performance-based assessments, and Can-Do statements across three school sites: Turnbull, College Park Elementary, and Bayside. This collaborative effort resulted in enhanced instructional frameworks, professional development modules, and sustainable resources that support high-quality bilingual education aligned with state standards and district strategic goals.
