Strand T: Technology Skills for the 21st Century World Language Teacher

Main content start

Strand Leaders: Megumi Shibamiya and Heather Wells

Incorporate technology with intention and make your tech tools work for you! In this strand, teachers will develop an approach to using technology in the classroom to maximize language learning. You'll design a thematic unit incorporating various tech tools to facilitate teaching, practice, and assessment of the modes of communication. You'll also deepen your understanding of how tech tools can support ACTFL's Core Practices.

What do you need for this strand? A foundation in lesson & unit design, knowledge of modes of communication, and proficiency in basic technology such as Google suite.

This strand is for you if you... are developing a thoughtful philosophy of technology use in your classroom...have completed Strand A or equivalent...are looking to deepen your technology practice.
